Putting up New Sign at Flying Squirrel Preserve
People with diverse interests and personal abilities can greatly enhance the quality and quantity of what the Park District is unable to do alone. Volunteers can be a single individual doing a specific task or community groups wishing to embark on a larger park facility project. We have been honored to have scouts, service organizations, school children and corporations contribute both time and money to the parks. Trails have been upgraded, litter removed, fences mended, facilities built, benches donated, grass mowed, and invasive plants controlled by dedicated volunteers. Your sweat and intellect are needed, please contact the district to learn about volunteer opportunities and specifically how your talents can be utilized!
Opportunities exist in the following categories:
Artists, Interpreters, Writers, Photographers
Design and develop brochures, bulletin board interpretive materials, trail interpretive signs, write newsletters and media releases, research and present nature interpretative programs, photograph all aspects of the natural history
Research
Perform animal and plant surveys, breeding bird census, geological mapping, water quality, drainage and pollution monitoring, historical land use and ownership collection
Friends of the Parks Organization
Provides expert references and perspectives, advise Park District on park operations and policy, long range funding sources, public relations, identify potential expansion of land acquisitions
General Maintenance

The MCPD has created a FB Group, "Friends of Morrow County Park District" for people willing to volunteer time and energy helping to maintain our county parks. We will post notifications on the Group page when a special project is planned or when extra help is needed letting volunteers know what park we will be working at and when.
If you are unable to physically work, but want to help, donations are always welcomed and appreciated.
Some areas the MCPD plans on tackling this spring and summer include adding trails and our parking areas are getting a facelift. As always, if you are at the park and see trash, please pick it up. If you see something that needs our attention, please contact them via one of the following.
We can be contacted thru our FB page Morrow County Park District, the FB Group page Friends of Morrow County Park District, or email MorrowCoPark@gmail.com
